TARTANIC _______________________________
[/sub] Mother nature is really a jealous, jealous being. It wasn't long until she had to ruin what she had worked so hard to renew. As if spring never existed, summer swept over the land.
The valleys, which were once moist and green, had turned into a display of yellow, dying weeds. The babbling ponds were silenced, as well as the rushing waterfalls.
However, mother nature is not limited to the plants and the streams. She also has free reign over the creatures who benefit from what she provides, and in this case takes away.
Tartanic, the White King, soon learned the wrath of the true ruler of Palmyra.
......................................................................................................................
Everything was dark as the King laid beneath a pile of stone and sticks, his body trapped by the heavy rubble.
His eyes opened slowly as he regained consciousness, a blazing fire of agony instantly overtaking his battered body.
"Argg."
He choked, a gasping breath of silt puffing from his lips as he continued to work against the heavy rocks.
ooc: uhg, still trying with him.

KATRiEL
She stood on her shaking feet for a long, hard moment. Body trembling and her mind struggled to grasp what had just happened. Nostrils flared, gasping for breath, ears flickering back and forth on her head. There had been a deafening sound that she couldn’t even begin to explain, and then the earth had shaken.
Hair stood on edge, gold eyes wide with panic. What in the world had just happened? Katriel wasn’t going to waste any time to find out, now that she knew that anything could be a distraction to throw her off guard and set her on her death bad.
The fact she was on a hit list should make her nervous, yet it didn’t seem to bother her.
Her quick steps carried her along, and that’s when she saw what made her heart drop to her chest. Hurrying to the crumbling and shifting pile of debris, she could barely make out if any one was trapped under there. Glancing up carefully, she made sure the cliff side looked like it was going to hold up and not collapse on her. Moving closer, the familiar voice and colors flashed before her as she realized it was Tartanic crushed in the land slide.
“Oh, God. No, Tartanic,” she whispered, gold eyes wide with panic as she moved closer, unable to figure out how to help him.

TARTANIC _______________________________
[/sub] Confusion had over taken him, along with the pain pulsating within his hind legs as he struggled against the broken mass of land.
"Where am I?"
He gasped aloud, his voice cracking with pain. His name was the only thing he could think of that had any relation to his past.
The rest of his memories has been destroyed by the sudden land slide.
His icy blue eyes widened as he hear the sound of a snapping branch, his heart pounding in his ears.
"Who's there."
He spoke in a stern voice with a hardly audible tremble of pain as he watched the strange equine approach.
"Don't come any closer, mare."
He snarled as he finally pawed himself free and slowly rose to his feet. Through hard, blood tinged eyes, he stared at the arriving equine.
"And how do you know my name, foreigner?"
He snapped as he took an unstable step forward, his left front knee threatening to give under his formidable weight.
Though he replied with the hostility of a well aware stallion, he was lost in a whirlwind of confusion.

KATRiEL
Her eyes were wide with shock as the stallion emerged from the rubble, battered and bruised. Her heart pounded in her chest at a wild pace as she stepped toward him, but she stopped in her tracks as the questions began to flow. Furrowing her brow, the black and blue mare answered.
“Agrin Shores… where else would you be?”
She watched as he staggered forward and almost fell, her heart wrenched in her chest as she took a step toward him. His cold tone made her stop in her tracks once again, watching him with a confused and hurt look. This wasn’t right, Tartanic definitely knew who she was. Being told not to come closer made her ears set back tightly against her skull.
What had just happened? He gets crushed by falling rocks and now he can’t remember her name? This wasn’t right, Katriel wouldn’t accept it or let those facts sink in. “Tartanic,” she murmured desperately, trying to stop her voice from shaking.
“I’m not a foreigner,” she managed to say, trying to keep the hurt and shock from her voice. “It’s me, Katriel,” she said like it was the most obvious thing. And to her it was, they had known each other for so long, and her name definitely wasn’t something for him to forget.
“You’re kidding me, right? Because I’m not finding this too amusing.”

TARTANIC _______________________________
[/sub] A ribbon of blood obscured his vision as it trickled over his right eye, running from the wound carved out from the jagged rock. He could feel himself swaying as he stood before the mare, his jaws locking.
"I have never heard of such a place."
He replied with a little less bite, though the words still slipped through clenched teeth.
"And did you not understand what I said, mare? Get away from me."
He spat before his eyes squinted shut as the pain from his recent injuries increased.
"What an odd creature you are, approaching an equine you have no knowledge of."
He chuckled a bit, his ears sinking back against his scull as the mare continued to speak.
Before he could manage another biting reply, he caught the look of sheer shock lighting up her golden eyes.
"I, uhm, do not recall your name..."
Tartanic stammered.
"Should I know your name? An old acquaintance perhaps? Really, you caught me at a bad time, as you saw."
He forced out an uncomfortable chuckle as he stared past the blue and black mare.

KATRiEL
She didn’t understand how this could he happening, the two stood there rigidly with their jaws clenched tightly. Golden eyes flashed with pain and disbelief, and she just stood there not knowing what to do in order to help him. There just wasn’t anything she could do at this time, and the thought pained her.
The White alliance sat on their shoulders-- and without him, it would only be in her hands once again if he couldn’t remember all of it. She didn’t know what to do, shaking her head and closing her eyes it was too much for her.
“Trust me, I have a lot more knowledge about you then you know,” she snapped back in reply, watching him in distress. She took another step toward him, even when he told her to stay away. Staring in horror at the amount of blood that ran over him, staining his coat with crimson streaks.
“Katriel,” she said a bit more softly, her eyes staring at him almost pleadingly. “You have to remember me,” she begged again, even if she knew it was no use.
“An old acquaintance?” She said, her voice quiet and fragile-- like the delicate wings of a butterfly, easily broken. “Sure… I guess you could say that.”
She lowered her head in defeat- she had to get him to remember her again, she just had too.

TARTANIC _______________________________
[/sub] As Tartanic began to realize his current state, he couldn't help but feel bad for the mare. There was a sort of warm sensation left on his tongue after he quietly breathed her name, but the name still didn't ring a bell.
His lips turned downwards as his expression sunk into a frown, his head lowering in defeat.
"Im sorry, miss."
He mumbled as he stared at the ground, his electric blue forelock hiding the gruesome evidence of his battle wounds.
"But I do not remember you."
His head lifted and turned over his shoulder as he studied the mound of rubble he had barely been able to escape.
"I guess my memory is shaken."
He added quietly as his attention returned to Katriel. Biting his lip, he continued to speak.
"What would you have called us then?"
He questioned, his eyes widening with confusion.

KATRiEL
His head lowered and he apologized, he had no reason to be apologizing to her. Katriel sighed heavily, just watching him sadly. He didn’t remember her… and he had known her since she was simply a yearling. Four years had passed- how could he forget the four years between them. She didn’t know what to say, there wasn’t anything that she could say.
Biting her lower lip hard, black and blue forelock fell over her eyes. The two just stood there, and she listened wordlessly as he spoke. She was very well aware that he didn’t remember her, but she didn’t say anything about it. His tone was gentler, and he seemed to be genuinely sorry that he couldn’t remember her.
He was lucky to be alive, but lacking memory. She couldn’t be picky then, she’d just have to take what she had and work with it. When he asked what they were, she let a shaky sigh slip through her lips.
“King and Queen of the White alliances, mates, lovers?” She said slowly, merely suggesting that as she went along.
She couldn’t meet his eye as she said this- almost not wanting to know his reaction. Perhaps she should have lied, and just said friends.
She’d just have to find out.
