A Hushed GloamingMy swift strides blew through the long grass that surrounded my forelegs. Swishing by them, covering my grey almost white legs. Every time I stepped their would be the crack of leaves that had already started to fall from the maple trees. The spruce trees swooshing behind me, making a loud crack as I pushed them until they snapped off their hinges. I snapped at them when they scraped along my face, the singed ends from the recent forest fire spiking my mouth. It didn't have a taste but it was different. I had found myself in the forest part of the bridge.
My paws scrunched on the fallen pine needles that beetle kill had turned into a deep orange. The bark stood out in a deep shade of black. I latched my jaws onto one of the bushes as it scraped over my face leaving a trail of flattened fur. I backed up, pulling on the twig and as i pulled all the pine needles off the tree fell down in big thump. I smiled darkly to myself and continued walking. Remembering how they crumpled to the ground, it was like many of the horses that laid around here. Weak and helpless, barely able to lift a hoof before they were clobbered. It was like a movie, based on a true story, some of it was truth, while most of it was fake.
I shook my lightly framed head, the long fur covering my eyes just a tad, and hiding my unforgiving dark eyes. I was almost utterly disgusted. This place was the pits, the bottom of the pit even. It was cheery and all about the good, and the future and what could be and what would be on one side, and then gloomy, and everything i could wish for on the other. I was heading for the South but that was probably obvious to the observers eye. I looked down, glancing at the crystal puddle I had come to. I looked at myself, snorted and trotted through it. Twigs were stuck in my bushy mane, and my nose was starting to run. My muscles werre starting to fill in, as I had just come of the ripe age. But it was nice, nice to get a cold breeze run through my bones in this summer heat as i tried to stand in the open, to get a cold breeze rush over me. I snorted as i realized how far i had come. Born as a light, i was disgusted by their lives so had moved on. Moved on to the South, and i was almost their. I was so close. That cheered me up, sort of. Well not really.
I manoeuvred myself towards some spruce trees. Not caring as they pulled on my mane, and the thistle bushes made their mark on my legs and belly. Little trees were stepped upon, and anything worth living was dodged. Everything else was trampled, and killed, thistle were the main things I left behind. They spread like wildflowers, but they were difficult to get rid of. They were utter pests to the land.
I came upon a muddy puddle, and some hair caught on a tree, maybe this would be a good time to put my tracking skills to use. I followed the flattened trees, and twigs, the muddy foot prints, and the hair that had been tangled up in the trees and shrubs that crowded me on all sides. I stopped on the tree line as the horse came into sight. Or maybe it was a wolf? Either way, my eyes locked on the form of the animal in front of me. And my predatory instinct took over. I hid behind a spruce tree that gave me cover easily. My coat blending into the early fall colours. Hello. My voice bounced off the trees as i spoke, and it sounded like an echo from where i stood, giving an edge to this confrontation. Can you not reply? Is that too much to ask for? I smirked and stood where i was. Waiting for the creature to respond in whichever way the saw fit. My power, it would be unknown for a bit, at least to this being.

VELASCO
Gray eyes shone in twisted amusement as he kept his paw firmly down on the mouse’s tail. The small creature squealed and struggled, trying to run away from him. Occasionally it would spin around, trying to bit him to allow it to be free once more. That would result in a low growl sliding through his closed teeth, and smacking him with his other paw. Chuckling to himself as the creature would try and bite him, try to defend himself. After long moments of letting the creature struggle on, he moved his paw and watched it scamper off a couple of feet, thinking he was free once more. Velasco pounced forward effortlessly, smacking his paw down on the small woodland creatures body once more. Listening to the faint crush bones and squealed of pain. “You thought you could get away from me, little one?“ He murmured, lowering his nose closer to the small creature who trembled under the weight of his paw. “You foolish, foolish little creature.” Letting it go, he watched it scamper away- he’d leave it to suffer on and eventually die. He moved on easily, slinking through the forest around the edges of the bridge. Branches snapped underneath his paws, the faint sound of leaves crackling and crunching joined in the sound. With the faint breeze, it was almost like music to his ears with the rattling branches- the sound of breaking, something he enjoyed.
There was no reason for him to really be here, but he had nothing to do. He lived no where and took his days wandering around, trying to find something to do. Running his tongue over his sharp teeth and lips, he looked around the empty forest. His stomach was beginning to rumble silently in hunger- half of him wished that he would have finished off that mouse, even though it wouldn’t have filled his hunger. Blood-lust ran through his veins, and he stood there for a moment, knowing it wouldn’t be hard for him to find food. His pray was attracted to him, everything about him would lure them closer and make his job so much easier. And to think, when he had been younger he had been envious of those with increased strength. Now he merely laughed, they would go along without food and complain that they were hungry. He continued to walk forward through the forest, moving almost effortlessly and quickly.
A small deer was grazing not too far off, crouching low into the grass he watched her for a moment. His fur standing up on his neck slightly, curling his lips back he studied it for a long, hard moment. He was just getting ready to pounce as the small creature turned around and watched him curiously- that was until someone called out and scared the creature away. He leaped up and after the deer for two strides, snarling silently as he watched it bound off quickly. He wasn’t in the mood to go chasing it right now. His lips still curled back revealing his teeth, he closed his eyes and sniffed the breeze. He realized that he wasn’t alone. The voice seemed to be female, lurking through the trees he saw her. Black with blue markings, his lips curled back even more in disgust as he realized she was from the White alliance. He stopped a bit away from her, still hidden from her view. He stood there for a long time, just watching her. Stepping forward, gray eyes narrowed at her. He didn’t say anything for a moment, watching her as she wore that ignorant smirk.
“Why would anyone want to reply to you? Did you think of that?”

A Hushed GloamingI smiled as our eyes locked, and immediately he became uninterested. It was probably the blue light that shone so heavenly on my shoulder, and i just smirked at him. Edging him on. He was probably upset that i had made him lose his prey, but he would just have to deal with it. He could go find another one, they were easy enough to find. For instance, i closed my eyes, and some words formed, and when i opened them i knew exactly where a deer was. Simple. If you had a gift. I walked out of the trees, my cover was already blown anyways, i guess my hiding skills weren't as good as I had thought.
Why would anyone want to reply to you? Did you think of that? I shook my head, and revealed my canines to him for a moment. If they didn't reply, lets just say I would make them. I smiled innocently at him for a moment, and then took to observing him. He was of course dark hearted, wolf. He couldn't be a light, a red marking shone off of him like gold, but i had felt his dark presence from aways off anyways, even without seeing the red glow that loomed off of him.
He was probably shocked that a light could speak this way, so I intended to inform him. Oh, this i moved my canine neck towards my blue markings. Oh, i long since betrayed that. I sniffed the ground that surrounded me. Picking up traces of animals from a ways off. I started to walk away from him, wondering if he would follow, but not really caring. He was in the back of my brain, even though it would be nice to not be alone for a bit, I was hungry. I started to walk, and let my mind form some sort of riddle.
Around the tree, and through the nook That is where you'll find the crook
I looked at the ground and wondering where i could find a nook. I passed a whole bunch of trees but this so called crook, and nook were no where to be seen. I looked back, and retraced my steps to find this wolf. Do you know where i could find a nook? I might as well try to be civilized. Right?

VELASCO
The female peeled her lips back, revealing her row of teeth. He smiled wider at her for a moment, almost amused by her sneer. Gray eyes watched her quizzically for a long moment at her comment- he didn’t quite care enough to ask her about what that meant. He was sure he’d find out eventually anyways, most around here didn’t keep things to secretive. Licking his lips again, hunger still lingering in his stomach. His expression almost turned into irritation as he watched her, if it hadn’t been for her he wouldn’t be hungry right now.
She craned her neck around and pointed to the bright blue markings across her pelt, and it made him shake his head for a moment. Once a White, always a White- he knew that well. The White alliance was weak, and they always would be, no matter how tough they pretended to be. “Oh. I’m sure,” he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes at her. He had heard those words so many times, many talked the talk but never could follow the path that truly belong with them. It was disgusting, how they just assumed that they could say they were part of their alliance even with the gag-reflex worthy blue markings strung across their bodies like white flags.
Without any indication, she took off with her nose close to the ground. Sniffing the air for a long moment, he realized she was following a track for food. Gritting his teeth, he watched her walk off. He hadn’t seen this in his dreams last night, and he absolutely hated it when they strayed off from the original plan. He wasn’t supposed to come across anyone today- but now he did, irritated and hungry he was almost going to turn around until she came back and asked him if he knew where a nook was.
A nook? What the hell was she even talking about? He looked at her, more amused then anything- he had never heard of such things. “A nook? No, couldn’t tell you,” he said simply. Another warm breeze rattled the trees around them, causing his hair to stand on end as he could smell the deer again. “Shh,” he hissed, trotting off with his head low to the ground. He saw it now, the little defenseless fawn eating leaves without any care. Crouching lower to the ground, his teeth bared and ready. He looked over his shoulder at the female for a moment, wondering if she was going to ruin this again. Without much warning the little fawn skipped off a couple of feet. Lowering himself to the ground slowly, Velasco watched and waited for her to come closer again. He knew it wouldn’t be long.

A Hushed GloamingI smiled at the wolf. He was upset because I scared away his precious deer. I huffed, he shouldn't even care, it was just a little deer. A smug smile drew across my maw, and i drew my teeth. Blaming others for your laziness, and wanting the prey to always come to you, won't get you food. I watched as he licked his lips, he was making me hungry. Poor him. I looked away and wanted to snap at him, but I didn't. My short temper was rising as he denied the fact that i wanted to join the darkness. Oh. I'm Sure. I mimicked him when he spoke, blaw, blaw, blaw. You can keep believing what ever you want to believe. It doesn't matter to me. He rolled his eyes at me, and i felt an urge, but i kept it hidden. I felt myself reading his mind, yet again, he thought, One a white-always a white. Well I would show him.
I thought i had felt him watching me when i was on the hunt. But i was disgusted when he didn't know what a nook was. Well, your clueless. I watched as he suddenly hushed me, I won't be... I stopped as i saw him crawl towards a fawn. He was so slow, i watched as he let the deer come to him, and i laughed as he decided it wasn't close enough for him. I watched as he laid waiting there, and i got irritated, take the kill already. I kept saying over and over in my mind. I laid myself down, and moved towards him, if he wasn't going to take it, then i was. I glanced at him, but the fawn was so close I had to take it.
I moved behind the long grass, and let my paws move one step at a time closer to the fawn. My grey mass hidden by the long grass that was slowly dyeing around me. I knew he thought i was going to ruin this again, so just to annoy him that's what i would do. I stepped on a dead twig which sent the fawn running, i jumped late and missed it by a hair. I smiled, a smug look spread across my maw as i looked at the wolf behind me. I gave a small laugh, and went on my way to find my cornered prey.
My mind searched the forest for life, and i wondered if the wolf was disgusted with me. But i just let myself laugh it off silently, and continued trying to find my prey. I crossed over a branch and found a corner of trees, i was supposed to go through it, but a large doe was in front of me. I smirked turning around to find this wolf, who was so hungry to help me take it down. I approached him, and gave him a greedy smile. I found a large doe if you want to help me take it down. It's in the nook i told you about. I looked at him wondering if he would come. I know your hungry. I tried to find his name in his mind, and found it. Velasco. Hmm, it was a nice name. I started towards my prize, realizing i didn't really need his help, just the company. I crouched down in the grass by my doe, and waited for it to settle. I looked back hoping to see Velasco's shape but couldn't see it so gave up and searched for the spot on the does body, searching for its weak spot.
